Supply chain resilience, sustainability, and IT and logistics are among the responsibilities that have been handed to Andreas Hubert, the new chief operating officer (COO) of Puma Group.
As Puma’s new COO, Hubert will be in charge of the business’s global sourcing operations which includes sustainability strategy, as well as product development, IT and logistics. Sourcing, IT, and logistics being placed within the remit of the COO is a new move but it streamlines the responsibilities of other board members, the retailer said in a statement this week.
Previously, sourcing was the responsibility of the chief product officer (CPO), IT the responsibility of the CFO and logistics was part of the CEO’s remit.
Hubert is a long-serving sports company man, serving as CIO at Adidas until June 2025, where he oversaw the company’s technology strategy, systems, applications, and IT services for more than four years. He joined Adidas in 2005, and held several leadership roles, including being based in Hong Kong for 12 years, where among other jobs he was senior vice president of global sourcing.
Hubert’s role is effective as of 1 September. At that time, Puma’s management board will consist of CEO Arthur Hoeld, CFO Markus Neubrand, CPO Maria Valdes, chief commercial officer Matthias Bäumer, and Hubert.
“I am delighted to welcome Andreas to Puma as our new COO,” explained Hoeld.
“With his extensive background in IT, sourcing, and supply chain management, he brings the perfect combination of strategic insight and operational excellence. His deep industry experience and expertise will be instrumental in optimising Puma’s global operations, driving digital transformation, and strengthening the resilience of our supply chain as we enter our next phase of growth.”
Hubert added: “Puma is an iconic brand with tremendous potential, and I look forward to working closely with the leadership team to strengthen our operational backbone, accelerate digital innovation, and enhance supply chain agility.
“Together, we will build a more resilient, customer-centric, and future-ready organisation.”
