Nobody’s Child said this week that it has started a new preloved fashion partnership with eBay, which will see second-hand garments from the brand sold on the marketplace with support from circular economy specialist Reskinned.
Over the last month, Nobody’s Child has been gathering donations from its customers, including pieces from its own staff, and it now has a body of stock to sell on eBay via the marketplace’s Reskinned partnership.
The retailer, which also announced this week it will be opening its first store in the north of England next month in Leeds, said the move to sell preloved fashion on eBay will help reduce textile waste and give its customers an easy, rewarding way to keep fashion out of landfill.
Kirsty Keoghan, global head of pre-loved fashion at eBay, commented: “The preloved fashion market is booming, fuelled by savvy Gen Z shoppers looking for high quality pieces at great prices.
“By bringing an incredible brand like Nobody’s Child onto the eBay marketplace, we’re demonstrating how we’re making circularity for fashion more accessible – for both brands, and for buyers.”
The new eBay resale channel for Nobody’s Child comes after it launched a takeback service with Reskinned earlier this year. Other elements of its more circular fashion proposition include an onsite rental service using Hirestreet’s Zoa platform and repair and alterations with Sojo.
Nobody’s Child is also a signatory of environmental NGO Wrap’s Textiles 2030 initiative.
Jody Plows, CEO of Nobody’s Child, remarked. “Our mission has always been to design beautiful clothes with a conscience.
“By partnering with Reskinned and eBay, we’re taking that promise even further giving our customers the power to contribute to a circular fashion economy.”
Reskinned’s eBay-approved brand partner stores give brands the opportunity to find a new lease of life for the clothes that haven’t found a home yet. These portals resell goods such as customer returns, deadstock, design samples, and previously faulty items that have been repaired.
Once Reskinned gets hold of the stock from brands such as Nobody’s Child, it sorts, prepares and undertakes repairs on garments where it is possible before putting them up for resale on dedicated branded eBay pages.
Dune London, Seasalt Cornwall, and Oliver Bonas are among the retailers with Reskinned-powered eBay pages.
