A Reiss repair service went live last week after the fashion retailer teamed up with repairs specialist Sojo to bring a new offering to its customers.
In a statement on LinkedIn, the Next-owned brand said the move to offer Reiss repair services was part of its “commitment to the circular economy”. Alterations and wider scale repairs are both now available at Reiss’s Kent House and Long Acre stores in central London.
The Reiss repair service has been launched after retailers such as Selfridges and Marks & Spencer announced their own partnerships with Sojo, which originally started off as an online home delivery repairs service for consumers.
“Promoting product longevity through design and circular services is one of our key sustainability commitments and now our customers can extend the life of their favourite Reiss styles ensuring they fit perfectly and are cherished for as long as possible,” Reiss said.
Customers wishing to use the service can bring their item into one of the two stores and discuss their requirements with a member of staff. The repaired or altered item will then be sent back to store or the consumer’s home in three working days.
Over the last 18 months, Reiss has secured several partnerships to help support its sustainability strategy. In June 2023, it announced it was working with Segura to map its supply chain, while in March this year it began work with Compare Ethics to help verify its ‘green’ claims.
Compare Ethics’ artificial intelligence-powered tech evaluates and ranks the quality of sustainability messaging against regulatory requirements, and offers actionable steps for achieving full compliance.
Commenting at the time, Sally-Anne Newson, chief customer officer at Reiss, said: “At Reiss, we are dedicated to embodying sustainable practices in every aspect of our business.”
She added that the retailer wanted to communicate its responsible sourcing achievements to consumers “with total confidence” and find ways to demonstrate progress within responsible sourcing and environmental, social and governance.
