Baby food brand Ella’s Kitchen has announced a new partnership with Eevie, a B-Corp-certified company that operates a climate-related employee engagement app.
The app creates climate challenges for employees and rewards sustainable behaviour, and will be used to accelerate Ella’s Kitchen’s ‘30×30’ campaign which sees the company work with RSPB to plant over 30 million sq ft of grass and wildflower meadows by 2030.
By partnering with Eevie, Ella’s Kitchen is hoping to engender more employee engagement with the programme. Staff will be set challenges to reduce their individual carbon footprint both at work and at home, and rewarded with wildflower plug plants that will be planted in one of three RSPB-protected sites across the UK.
In another employee engagement boost, the app also gives staff access to educational content aimed at helping raise their awareness of their carbon footprint and inspire them to take environmental action. For instance, every time a team member reads an article, listens to a podcast, or completes an educational programme, they will be rewarded through the app.
Ella’s Kitchen said the Eevie partnership will also support its overarching sustainability target, which includes the goal of reducing its Scope 3 emissions by 28% by 2030. The changes staff make as a result of using the app will count towards these ambitions.
Chris Jenkins, head of impact at Ella’s Kitchen UK, said: “Our children are growing up in the middle of a climate and nature crisis, and it’s on all of us to take action to protect their future.
“At Ella’s Kitchen, we’ve set big goals to reduce carbon emissions and change how we operate – from using easier-to-recycle packaging to working with partners to cut emissions across our supply chain. But it’s also important to show our team how the small changes they make can have a big impact.”
Antonius Willms, CEO at Eevie, added: “By joining the Eevie app, Ella’s Kitchen is joining the likes of EDF, DHL, and the RSPB to accelerate their climate action while fostering a climate friendly work culture.
“The app creates the perfect environment to engage employees while creating the behaviour change all companies need if they are to meet their sustainability targets. We are especially excited that Ella’s chosen incentives will go directly to a tangible project that will protect UK biodiversity and pollinators and allow employees to see the real and positive impact of their every day, climate conscious, decisions.”
