Truly Nuts now in WHSmith travel stores

Retail partnership: WHSmith travel arm goes Truly Nuts

Brazil nut brand Truly Nuts – which promises to give 25% of its profit back to the Amazon rainforest from where its products are sourced and made – has established its first UK retail presence at WHSmith travel stores.

The White Lion Foods company, which launched Truly Nuts in 2023 and already sells the brand via a direct-to-consumer website and on Amazon, has announced a strategic partnership with the WHSmith travel arm that will see its flavoured Brazil nut snacks and its other ranges stocked in 146 stores nationwide.

A statement from Truly Nuts suggested the move aims to meet the increasing demand from health-conscious consumers and broaden the range of food-to-go options for time-pressed travellers purchasing goods at airport and station stores in the UK.

Truly Nuts’ smoked mixed nuts, milk chocolate Brazil nuts, salted almonds, and chili mixed nuts are now available at WHSmith travel shops.

The brand said it empowers women by paying those working in their Amazon-based Brazil nut factory in Peru a 50% higher wage than the minimum, while also being conscious about the environment in which the goods are produced.

According to Truly Nuts, a quarter of all profit from its sales goes back to the Amazon rainforest, while its factory is powered by the shells of the Brazil nuts in a move that minimises its carbon footprint. The brand has also collaborated with One Tree Planted to ensure it is planting new trees, irrespective of the profit the company is generating.

Gareth Lloyd, co-founder & CEO of Truly Nuts, commented: “Our mission has always been to provide nutritious snacks, and WHSmith shares our values, commitment to sustainability, and dedication to healthier snacking options.

“In today’s world, where choosing a snack can also mean contributing to the restoration of the Amazon, having that choice is incredibly important.”
