New appointment: Chanel’s Pavlovsky named co-chair of The Fashion Pact

Chanel president of fashion activities Bruno Pavlovsky has been appointed co-chair of The Fashion Pact, joining Inditex CEO Óscar García Maceiras and former Unilever CEO Paul Polman in leading the fashion industry sustainability coalition.

The appointment marks a new phase for the organisation, which is looking to translate collective ambition into practical implementation and scale solutions across the industry as it looks ahead to 2027. The Fashion Pact is a non-profit organisation set on forging a nature-positive, net-zero future for fashion, through CEO-led collaboration.

Pavlovsky, who is also president of Chanel SAS, the French operating and manufacturing division of Chanel, will help strengthen collaboration between companies across different regions, business models and supply chains as they work to address shared environmental challenges.

“At Chanel, we believe that the transformations facing our industry require long-term commitment and collective action, particularly across supply chains,” Pavlovsky said.

“I am proud to contribute to this next chapter of The Fashion Pact and I look forward to working with the other co-chairs and all members to make the coalition even more global, practical and effective.”

The Fashion Pact has also announced changes to its steering committee, welcoming Ermenegildo ‘Gildo’ Zegna, executive chairman of Ermenegildo Zegna Group, and Pier Paolo Righi, CEO and president of Karl Lagerfeld.

The appointments are intended to broaden representation across the fashion industry, bringing together leaders from different market segments and perspectives from across the value chain. The governance changes form part of a steering committee rotation process designed to support transparent leadership renewal.

Gerald J. Corbae, CEO of NOA Brands, and Laurent Milchior, chairman & CEO of Groupe Etam, are leaving the committee. The organisation thanked both executives for their contributions.

Corbae will continue to participate in steering committee meetings in a non-voting advisory capacity, while Milchior will remain engaged in supporting and amplifying the voices of smaller businesses across the industry outside the committee.

The Fashion Pact said its ambition remained to turn collective action into lasting, measurable change, with stronger collaboration and the scaling of solutions central to its next phase.
