Climeworks Solutions has announced an expanded offering designed to help organisations procure carbon removal portfolios aligned with specific compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements.
As carbon removal policies evolve around the world, organisations are increasingly looking for support in understanding which carbon removals fit specific regulatory frameworks and how requirements differ across jurisdictions. Climeworks said it is helping meet this need by adding dedicated compliance expertise, framework-specific sourcing capabilities, and ongoing monitoring of policy developments to its portfolio.
Climeworks provides carbon removal portfolios, helping businesses and other groups reduce or offset their carbon footprint.
This latest announcement comes as policymakers continue to recognise the role carbon removals can play in achieving climate goals for individual organisations, for example the European Commission has proposed to create a pathway for integrating permanent carbon removals into the EU Emissions Trading System.

Climeworks said it is initially focusing on several policy frameworks where demand for carbon removals is emerging: ICAO CORSIA Removals; Article 6.2 ITMO Removals; and EU CRCF Carbon Removals.
There is a recognition carbon removal policies continue to develop, so Climeworks plans to expand its compliance-ready offering to support additional frameworks and jurisdictions as they emerge. It said organisations are increasingly evaluating carbon removals through the lens of policy and compliance requirements as new frameworks emerge around the world.
Climeworks lists Ocado, Swarovski, H&M Group, and Shopify among the organisations it works alongside.
