Zalando strikes preloved partnership with Vestiaire Collective

‘Authenticated luxury’: Vestiaire Collective becomes first preloved partner for Zalando

A new partnership between Zalando and Vestiaire Collective has given consumers the chance to shop preloved designer brands not previously available on Zalando’s online platform.

Launching in 14 European markets where Zalando’s pre-owned category is available, the “authenticated luxury” assortment includes items from more than 50 brands, covering garments, footwear, handbags, and accessories.

In a joint statement, the businesses said that by combining Vestiaire Collective’s luxury resale expertise with Zalando’s extensive platform, the second-hand shopping experience has been elevated.

In addition, this partnership opens the pre-owned category to the Zalando Partner Program for the first time. This is a nod to what Zalando described as “exceptional demand for high-quality pre-owned fashion”, adding that, on average, 62% of its pre-owned assortment sold within the first seven days of being listed in 2025.

Zalando data shows 40% of customers buying preloved fashion also add a new item to their order.

Vestiaire has 100 authenticators and 50 quality controllers in place globally, and all its items available on Zalando have undergone a verification of authentication process. Indeed, the new assortment of preloved items come with a 30-day return window, and any returned items go through a physical re-authentication at a Vestiaire Collective facility before being placed back online.

Alice Marshall, director of pre-owned at Zalando, commented: “Demand for high-quality pre-owned fashion keeps growing.

“By adding authenticated luxury to the mix and pairing it with Zalando’s unmatched convenience, we aim to encourage even more customers to explore second-hand shopping.”

Thomas Hezard, chief product officer at Vestiaire Collective, remarked: “This partnership opens the door for a new generation of customers to discover and engage with luxury fashion through pre-owned, meeting them where they already shop.

“It reflects a shared ambition to make circular luxury more visible, more relevant, and more appealing to a wider and younger audience.”

The products forming the new partnership are available via a dedicated Vestiaire Collective landing page on Zalando in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, and Sweden.
