FatFace is now working with Reskinned on a takeback scheme

Takeback partnership: FatFace becomes Reskinned’s first partner of 2026

UK-based fashion retailer FatFace is now working with Reskinned to offer its customers a garment takeback scheme.

FatFace is the first partner for Reskinned in 2026, and the partnership means consumers can return their unwanted clothing to FatFace and give it a new life – as opposed to throwing it away. Reskinned either resells the item via its dedicated preloved platform or recycles the material in a responsible way.

In return, the customer engaged with the scheme will receive 20% off their next FatFace purchase.

FatFace has made some positive moves in terms of improving its sustainability credentials, of late. It actively measures and reduces its carbon footprint and it achieved B Corp status in April 2023, ahead of its sale to Next in a £115 million deal in October that year.

A previous resale partnership with Thrift+, which began in 2021, has now ceased.

The FatFace-Reskinned partnership

Consumers using the FatFace takeback scheme need to send a minimum of three qualifying items. Reskinned’s team then analyses them and will either find them a new home or recycle them – its in-house repair team can also amend items as necessary, to ensure they can be placed back on sale.

As part of the scheme, consumers also have the option to donate fashion items from any other brand through Give Your Best, a social enterprise that tackles clothing poverty by providing free clothes to the people who need them most.

The 20% voucher for future purchases can be used online or in store at FatFace, but requires a minimum spend of £80. Customers will have six months to redeem their discount.

Consumers can send FatFace takeback parcels up to four times per year. They can also select to drop off their preloved items in stores, with FatFace’s Bath, Exeter, Cheltenham, Harrogate, Edinburgh, Fort Kinnaird, Trafford, Rugby, Waterloo Station, Truro, and Southampton shops participating in the programme.

Nick Stevenson, FatFace’s trading & sustainability director, told Green Retail World: “As a business, we’re committed to making meaningful improvements across our collections, our environment and our community.

“Our new circularity partnership with Reskinned is designed to do just that, ensuring that valuable products are reused or recycled wherever possible, reducing waste. It’s part of our ongoing journey to make it easier for all our customers to participate in a more circular fashion system.”

Reskinned also has takeback and resale partnerships in place with Dune, Marks & Spencer, Nobody’s Child, and several other medium-sized retailers based in the UK.
