Cosmetics retailer Lush has announced the 2025 winners of the Lush Spring Prize, which rewards and recognises organisations from all over the world that work to help regenerate the planet.
A total of 19 companies will share the circa £250,000 prize pot which will be used to support their regenerative work covering a variety of social, environmental, and ethical projects.
In short, the Lush Spring Prize honours regenerative projects that are restoring ecosystems, revitalising communities, and reimagining human’s relationship with nature. It ties in with Lush’s mission to “leave the world Lusher than we found it” and aims to repair and improve Earth’s damaged systems.
Showcasing the winners, which were announced at a ceremony in Poole, Dorset on 29 May, provides evidence there are people across the world who are developing ways to live in harmony with nature and each other. There were more than 600 applicants for this year’s prize.
Each Spring Prize year – it’s been running every two years since 2017 – sees different themes emerge that are shaped by the organisations that receive a prize. In 2025, these themes included: the importance of weaving ancestral wisdom with scientific approaches; working at multiple scales and legally recognising the rights of nature; learning from those on the frontlines that are facilitating regenerative work in conflict zones or regions experiencing natural disasters.

Lush said amid biodiversity loss, climate crises, and widespread conflict, the projects awarded with a Lush Spring Prize show how regeneration is already happening locally, globally, and relationally.
The panel of judges included people representing regenerative design, permaculture, food sovereignty, transition, biomimicry and eco-village networks. Lush’s very own environmental partner and spokesperson Ruth Andrade, who Green Retail World spoke to back in 2023 in her previous role of Earthcare strategy lead at the cosmetics retailer, was on this year’s judging panel.
