Levi’s repairs: Fashion brand secures United Repair Centre partnership

Levi’s repairs have been launched in Belgium as the global fashion brand looks to up its circularity game in partnership with United Repair Centre.

The Levi’s repairs service – marketed as ‘Love.Tear.Repair’ – is to be offered in all 16 of the company’s stores in Belgium.

Consumers can drop off their items at any of the participating shops, with repairs and length alterations available for most products – not just denim. Amsterdam-based United Repair Centre will fix and alter the goods, and the products should be ready within a fortnight after they’ve been handed in to the store.

Repair rather than replace is a mantra many fashion businesses are doubling down on as they look to keep the goods they produce in circulation for longer as part of efforts to be better citizens of the planet. Specialist repair business Sojo has gained ground in the UK over the last 18 months by securing partnerships for repair with Reiss, Marks & Spencer, and several others.

Levi’s repairs for the brand’s Red Tab loyalty members are offered at 50% off, providing people with an incentive to sign up and share their data with the business.

On its Love.Tear.Repair webpage, Levi’s says: “Forget standard repairs.

“Trained by our experienced Levi’s tailors and using our official repair handbook, the United Repair Centre team knows our denim inside and out. Together, we’re working hard to keep your favourite fits looking fresh and on rotation for years to come.”

Levi’s does already offer repairs in some stores, including at its Battersea Power Station shopping centre site in south London, where it partners with local repair firms.

United Repair Centre teamed up with social impact group Fashion-Enter to open a new clothing repair facility in London, in November 2023. United Repair Centre was established in the Netherlands in 2022, and counts Patagonia, Lululemon, and Decathlon among the list of brands it supports with repairs.
