New Look makes supply chain traceability platform move with TrusTrace

‘Significant milestone’: New Look onboards all core suppliers to traceability platform

UK fashion retailer New Look has said all its core suppliers have now been onboarded onto the TrusTrace traceability platform it uses to manage its sourcing and supply chain.

The retailer said it reached the “significant landmark” at the end of April, having started to work with TrusTrace in 2023 with the aim to build a more transparent, responsible and “future-ready” supply chain. The traceability platform enables New Look to map and manage its supplier network in a centralised manner, and it said all future suppliers will be added to TrusTrace as partnerships with these companies get under way.

New Look said using the traceability platform allows the business to fully understand and measure the social and environmental impact of its sourcing decisions and meet emerging regulatory requirements with confidence.

TrustTrace is one of several tech organisations in this space, with others including Segura, which specialises in the fashion space, and Sweep, which recently added DIY retailer Wickes to its list of partners.

Integration of this technology is aimed at unlocking greater operational visibility, which in turn should lead to smarter decision-making and ensuring traceability data flows seamlessly throughout an organisation.

Sue Fairley, head of ESG, quality & sourcing at New Look, who spoke passionately on the subject of responsibility in business at last month’s Retail Technology Show, commented: “At New Look we are always looking at ways we can digitally innovate to improve our operations and enhance our sourcing strategy.

“We were one of the first UK fashion brands to partner with TrusTrace and two years on we have onboarded all of our core suppliers. This is a significant milestone for us and a testament to the collaboration and commitment of our supplier community. With TrusTrace, we can confidently trace our products back through the value chain, support our sustainability goals and ensure we’re operating in a way that’s transparent and accountable.”

Shameek Ghosh, CEO & co-founder of TrusTrace, added: “New Look has shown a clear commitment to building a future-ready supply chain – adopting traceability early and scaling it with intent.

“Onboarding 100% of core suppliers across all product categories in just over a year from their first engagement is a remarkable achievement, and faster than we typically see at this scale. It’s a testament to their focused execution and strategic vision.”

He continued: “At TrusTrace, we see supply chain data as a powerful enabler – not just for sustainability, but for resilience, agility, and smarter decision-making.”
