Manchester is getting a Nudie Jeans repair shop

Jeans repair: Nudie Jeans opening repair shop in Manchester’s Northern Quarter

Scandi fashion brand Nudie Jeans is set to open a Nudie Jeans repair shop in Manchester.

The Gothenburg-based apparel business will be setting up the site in the city’s Northern Quarter district at the end of April.

In a LinkedIn post announcing the impending jeans repair store opening, which would add to the brand’s three fashion store and repair shops in London, Nudie Jeans said: “For us, the physical store is incredibly important for several reasons.

“It’s in our stores that we truly connect with our customers—in person and authentically. These personal interactions drive us forward, make us better, and help us build a community that cares.”

It added: “Our repair shops are not just about selling new products—they are hubs for circularity. Customers return to us with their Nudie Jeans for free repairs for life. We also sell our own ‘Re-Use’ jeans, which are pre-loved jeans brought in by customers. In return, they receive 20% off a new pair.”

Nudie Jeans, which talks up its 100% organic denim products, said 2024 was its best year ever for online sales, although hasn’t revealed any figures. It also acknowledged shipping as “one of our biggest challenges” in terms of meeting the company’s climate goals, which is partly the reason for opening more physical space in the form of the jeans repair store hub in Manchester.

“Our stores act as local distribution hubs, reducing the need for air freight for online orders,” it stated.

“Instead, online orders are shipped from the nearest Nudie Jeans store and transported locally by truck. The UK is one of our largest and most important markets, and we see a significant need to expand both our repair services and omnichannel solutions here.”

One of the key aims of Nudie Jeans is to encourage “a new mindset about consumption and clothing care”, which in turn should reduce returns and drive sales of second-hand goods.
