Pre-loved fashion marketplace Depop is coming to life on the streets of London

Depop-up: Pre-loved fashion marketplace to open temporary spaces with Sook

Pre-loved fashion marketplace Depop has partnered with retail pop-up space provider Sook to open several temporary stores this Christmas period, and in the new year.

The two companies have agreed a six-month partnership to bring online business Depop to the streets of London and beyond, with the collaboration kicking off in the form of four pop-ups in the run-up to the end of 2023.

The idea is to encourage sellers to connect with their customers in real life, as well as to help sellers reach new audiences. The four separate events will bring 11 unique Depop sellers to major London retail destinations by the end of the year.

First, Depop seller Kathandrosa will take over the South Molton Street Sook space on 30 November with an edit of handpicked vintage and “Y2K” pieces, and that will be followed by fellow marketplace sellers Celiapops, Alicefletchdf and Reloadedldn showcasing their similar era styles and other designers at Sook’s Oxford Street retail space on 15-16 December.

Between 22-24 December, the sellers Chrissynx, Shophenri, Jwarren and Katierowe100 will take over the Oxford Street space, ahead of Imdesigms, Elianaavintage, and Ellboll taking residency there on 30 December.

Following the festive period pop-ups, the pre-loved fashion provider will place a selection of its sellers in Sook venues at the Birmingham Bullring, Liverpool One, and Edinburgh’s St. James Quarter in 2024.

Steve Dool, director of brand & marketing at Depop, noted: “We’re excited to be working with Sook again to give people the opportunity to shop from their favourite Depop sellers in the real world.

“By partnering with Sook, we hope we can reach and inspire more people to look to circular fashion options that are kinder to the planet, rather than buying new.”

John Hoyle, founder of Sook, added: “This new partnership is in line with our goal of supporting brands in bringing their vision to life, and is reflective of  the growing appetite amongst UK consumers to shop more consciously.”
