Morrisons More customers in EV boost

Loyalty play: Morrisons More customers can now earn points when they charge EVs

Morrisons More loyalty scheme members can now earn points when they charge their EVs at Motor Fuel Group (MFG) forecourts.

The operator said EV drivers can now earn five Morrisons More points for every £1 spent at any MFG EV Power charging bay in the UK.

The points are redeemable at all Morrisons supermarkets, and the partnership comes following MFG competing a £105 million investment to upgrade Morrisons forecourts, in the wake of its acquisition in January 2024.

This year, MFG is set to install  a further 250 ultra-rapid charging bays across Morrisons forecourts, as part of its previously announced £400 million EV infrastructure investment plan which is expected to result in more than 3,000 ultra-rapid chargers being put in place at 500 sites across the UK by 2030.

Matt McLellan, group customer, marketing & data director at Morrisons, remarked: “We are always looking for new ways to give our customers more value through the Morrisons More programme, and this partnership with MFG does exactly that.

“Rewarding customers with five Morrisons More Points for every £1 spent charging at all MFG EV Power bays across the UK means they can earn valuable points on the road and enjoy savings when they shop with us in store. As more drivers make the switch to electric vehicles, it’s important that we continue to evolve our loyalty offering to reflect how our customers live their lives.”

Martin Symes, EV director at MFG, commented: “This collaboration is another step forward in our commitment to creating a seamless, customer-focused EV charging experience.“

The Morrisons More move follows the launch of similar loyalty-linked charging offers from grocery competitors Tesco and Sainsbury’s.
