Tech manufacturer Lenovo is now offering its IT refurbishment service to businesses in 14 European markets.
The Lenovo Certified Refurbishment Services is in place to help organisations reduce e-waste and stretch their IT investments further in a landscape where it is becoming increasingly expensive to run a business.
Those taking advantage of the programme have the ability to refurbish their existing Lenovo devices, so they can be reused or repurposed internally. Lenovo said this option can help businesses avoid premature retirements, while also allowing them to adopt more circular business models that support their sustainability targets.
Lenovo said any devices undergoing IT refurbishment are returned to their owners with OEM-certified quality and renewed warranties.
Lenovo Certified Refurbishment Services is now available in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the UK.
Greg Smith, executive director & general manager for the EMEA Solutions and Services Group at Lenovo, commented: “European organisations are looking for practical ways to meet sustainability targets without slowing innovation or increasing costs.
“As European Union mandates require organisations to rethink their technology strategies, Certified Refurbishment Services help reduce IT carbon footprint, optimise resources, and meet sustainable procurement goals while building long-term value and resilience along the way.”
Lenovo said refurbished IT can also be easily upgraded with additional RAM (Random Access Memory), allowing businesses to boost performance of their equipment without replacing the hardware.
Lenovo suggested new IT purchases can be prioritised for high-performance users or emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI)-powered PCs, while refurbished units can be embraced to support everyday roles within businesses.
Research from Lenovo shows that 96% of EMEA-based IT decision makers consider environmental impact when making decisions about future AI usage.
James Pennington, director of global sustainability services at Lenovo, remarked. “The European Commission estimates it could save up to 231 million tonnes of CO₂ from heavy industry each year through improved materials management and reduction, reuse and recovery measures.”
Lenovo’s Certified Refurbishment Services offer three service levels: a light refresh; replacement of minor parts or display; and full IT refurbishment. These offerings can all be managed via the Lenovo Service Connect Portal.
