Luxury brand Vivienne Westwood has announced a fashion repairs and alterations partnership with circular services provider, The Seam.
The tie-up is an extension of its product care advice to customers, which has long been in place to encourage customers to keep their items in circulation for as long as possible. Adding the option of getting garments repaired by The Seam now means customers can be connected with experienced local tailors, cobblers and makers across the UK, so they can book a seamstress, tailor or clothing repair specialist near them.
The Seam has grown the number its partnerships with UK retailers in 2025. Earlier this month, The Seam secured a partnership with Primark, setting up an area in the retailer’s Manchester store to offer customers fashion repairs and alterations.
The service means consumers can bring in any item – not just Primark items – and pay between £3-£10 for alterations. Primark covers any outstanding cost beyond that fee.
Vivienne Westwood is directing customers to The Seam online.
“Longevity has always been central to the house’s ethos,” the company said on its product care page.
“Skilled craftsmanship and artisanal heritage continue to play a defining role in our designs to this day. We aim to equip customers with essential tools to ensure their cherished pieces last – whether through alteration, repair, careful refurbishment or other enhancements.”
The Seam, founded by Layla Sargent in 2020, has majored on working with luxury retailers. It has repaired more than 30,000 items since it launched, 70% of them luxury items, according to Sargent.
